Trauma Fellowship

Trauma is the main cause of mortality and disability among young people in the world and has the first rank of Burden of disease in Iran. In this regard, the most important responsibility of the government may be trauma prevention; however, optimal management of trauma patients is a matter of great importance. So training special personnel in order to manage and treat trauma patients seems to be very necessary. According to training and treating equipments and capacity and the great number of traumatic patients, Shiraz University of Medical Science has initiated trauma fellowship course .This course runs during 15 months for those who have specialty license. During this course, the necessary complementary training in arterial surgery, hepatobiliary , transplantation, heart surgery, urology, neurology, orthopedics, burn, plastic surgery and ICU will be given in order to manage traumatic patients. This course will initiate in December of every year and the acceptance time will announce by Health ministry in which 2 surgeon  will be accepted for this course. Training trauma fellowship is done in Namazee and Rajayi hospital. Namazee hospital is a specialist and subspecialist hospital having most necessary equipment for treating patients with complex and severe injuries while Shahid Rajayi Trauma center is a specialist trauma center which admits level |and ∏ trauma patients and has a high capacity of traumatic patients which initiated its activity in 2009 February.
